A wide array of surgical procedures are also performed by Dr. Sanchez which includes:
- Surgical removal of erupted and impacted: involve the removal of teeth that cannot be easily accessed, either because they have broken under the gum line or because they have not erupted fully.
- Biopsy of soft oral tissue: oral tissue biopsy may be necessary for lesions that cannot be diagnosed on the basis of the history and clinical findings alone.
- Removal of torus palatinus and mandibularis: Torus is a bony protrusion on the palate or on the mandible.
- Incision and drainage of abscess: Incision made intraorally and dissection is extended into adjacent fascial space(s) to provide adequate drainage of abscess or cellulitis.
- Frenulectomy:
The frenum may be excised when the tongue has limited mobility; for large diastemas (spaces) between teeth; when the frenum interferes with a prosthetic appliance; or when it is the etiology of periodontal tissue disease.
- Excision of pericoronal gingiva: surgical removal of inflammatory or hypertophied tissues surrounding partially erupted/impacted teeth.
